Etherscan has completed its SOC 2 Type II examination, among the first block explorers to do so. It covers the systems behind our blockchain data platform, including our block explorer, Explorer as a Service (EaaS), and the Etherscan APIs.
The examination was performed by Prescient Assurance LLC, an independent service auditor.
The report spans controls relevant to Security across our infrastructure, organization, product, internal procedures, and data handling.
What SOC 2 Type II Covers
SOC 2 is a reporting standard from the AICPA. A Type II report tests how a company's controls actually operated over a review period, usually several months, showing how they held up in practice.
What This Means for Institutional Teams
The report gives customers and prospects an independently tested view of these controls. For teams adopting Etherscan as a data and infrastructure provider, whether through the APIs or Explorer as a Service, it provides independent evidence that can support their security and vendor review.
i. Security and Vendor Due Diligence
Security teams can read an independent auditor's findings instead of relying on self-reported questionnaire answers, which can support or streamline vendor assessments.
ii. Enterprise Procurement and Onboarding
The report is documented, third-party evidence of Etherscan's controls that buyers can attach to procurement and risk reviews.
iii. Evaluating Etherscan for Production
Teams moving from testing to production can weigh an audited control environment against their own security, regulatory, and risk requirements.

The full SOC 2 Type II report and related security documentation are available to eligible customers, partners, and other authorized parties upon request and approval. Request access through the Etherscan Trust Center, or from your account manager if you are an existing customer.
